SUMMARY OF ABC REQUIREMENTS
BY PROJECT TYPE
STATE AGENCIES, DEPARTMENTS, and
AUTHORITIES

Schematic, Preliminary, and Final submittals per Chapter 3 are
required.
Design reviewed for compliance with all aspects of the State
Building Code.
Use ABC uniform Owner-Architect Agreement - refer to Chapter 4 and
Appendix B.
Use ABC uniform "front-end" documents in project manual - refer to
Chapter 3 (Section F), Chapter 5, and Appendix C.
The project will be supervised and administered by the ABC - refer
to Chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8 for procedures.
PUBLIC SCHOOL and COLLEGE AUTHORITY
(PSCA) See Project

Schematic, Preliminary, and Final submittals per Chapter 3 are
required.
Plans and specifications must also be approved by the State School
Architect. Contact that office for instructions.
Design reviewed for compliance with all aspects of the State
Building Code.

LOCALLY FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOLS, K-12

"front-end" documents. Contact the State School Architect for
instructions.
The ABC provides periodic inspections - refer to Chapter 8 for
requirements.
HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Schematic, Preliminary, and Final submittals per Chapter 3, are
required.
Design reviewed for compliance with all aspects of the State
Building Code.
Use Owner-Architect Agreement and uniform documents as deemed
appropriate by institution. ABC documents are not to be used without
prior written approval of the Director of Technical Staff.
The ABC may provide periodic inspections.
PRIVATE SCHOOLS, THEATERS, and HOTELS

Schematic, Preliminary, and Final submittals per Chapter 3, are
required.
Design reviewed for compliance with the State Building Code, except
for energy conservation requirements.
Use Owner-Architect Agreement and uniform documents as deemed
appropriate by the Owner, but not ABC documents.
The ABC may provide periodic inspections.
